First up, Italian duo Armonica and South African songstress Toshi have their incredible track ‘Ngeke’ remixed into a deeply hypnotising, glitched out roller by Andhim. Armonica then take on Dele Sosimi’s ‘Turbulent Times’ reworking the afrobeat flavours into a swelling, synthesised house number filled to the brim with emotion. On the B side FatouMata & Juan remix Mabiisi’s ‘King’ into a deep and brooding techno track with a darker tinge to it. The final slot on this MoBlack sampler comes in the form of Christos Fourkis’ ? ‘Doumasi’ that captivates with its use of African vocal samples behind percussive rhythms, mesmerising marimbas and sweeping pads.

‘Multiverse’ is a word used to describe an infinite group of disparate universes including the ones currently inhabited by humans. A myriad of realms that sit side by side, undetected by our senses, surround us at any given moment. The multiverse theory was first confirmed by tracking leakage of electromagnetic waves filtering from one dimension into the next. When these waves were transposed to fit into frequencies audible by the human ear, the recordings were studied by a team of scientists, who found that they contained rhythmic elements that resembled a speech pattern of an alien language. DjeuhDjoah & Lieutenant Nicholson is a French composers and afro-soul singer’s duo. T’es qui ? is their first album, fruit of an intense collaboration during many years, on stage and in studio. They call their music as “Afropean songs”, a collection of Jazzy-Pop melodies, Afro-Soul and Funk arrangements. They'll be back in November with a tremendous Afro-Jazz and Funky album titled Aimez ces airs. Until then, they present “El Nino”, an Afro-Funk gem about climate change, and “Fontaine”, an Afro hit with a great combination of analog take and electronic dancefloor ingredients. Man Face was a short-lived project from the heyday of disco, helmed by two South African artists Winston Alwyn Gill and Henderson Brathwaite, but recorded in Italy. It's little wonder to see "You're Hurting Me" coming to light on Best Records, the trusted stable for all kinds of Italian dance curios, but this time the re-release is being handled in conjunction with the always-on-point Early Sounds crew. Pellegrino, himself an Early Sounds regular, handles edit duties on the A side and lathers up the original with a delicate but delectable approach that keeps the bubbling grooves of Man Face intact while edging a little more mileage out of those sumptuous keys pattering drums.
