The masked hero comes back after the LP with a 3 tracks EP landing in the summertime and it’s yet again worth the wait, as it brings back hints of that nu-disco house music we learnt to love but together with a new touch. “006A1” is the opening tune which is a funky view on the dancefloor with hints of blissful acid grooves and a meticulous structured arrangement, for club use only. We are proud to announce the arrival of Apparel Wax LP001, our first LP which opens a new catalogue dedicated to albums. We began to search the tracks for this Lp with the same guideline ever: the love for the music not thinking about the charts. The amazing artists who are taking part in the collective knew since day 1 that they had to put on a mask if they wanted to partake in this adventure; knowing how important is to 'appear' nowadays we wanted to prove that we could make great music without the help of the big names. So far so good. For this double vinyl LP we picked amongst the different souls that House Music has got, from Disco to Lo-Fi, always focusing on our 'Jazzy' watermark and giving the opportunity to the artists to prove their interpretative skills on this theme once again.

005A1 with its funk attitude, powerful chords and stunning vocals creates a proper banger; that one tune we just can’t stop shaking our hips and to. 005A2 is such a perfect blend of different feelings: are the strings a bit 80’s? Is it just a new version of that kind of disco music? 005B1 features a piano loop that is a great tribute to classic house music and keeps on dialoguing with catchy vocals. The track elevates the spirit of the happy tune to a next level, leaving not only a taste of summer but a sense of coolness. 005B2 played after the first three hitting tracks, with its saxophone and synthesizers is a percussive, atmospheric and fulfilling way to end the record’s narrative in perfect fashion; a record that displays an uncanny array of house/disco music performances.

Few words are needed to describe the debut of the vinyl with A1 track which is a rarely powerful combination of 2.0 Dance Music and 80's vibes, a proper slap in the face to kick it off! Our unknown DJ then shifts to a more sensual mode with A2, where funky guitar shades and smooth chords blended with the vocals that drag us on a more intimate level of listening to keep on traveling on a lower tone. B side starts with a track guided by weaving Jazzy rhythmics dialoguing hectically with Samba and some jungle environmental recordings, creating a super personal interpretation of Brazilian Jazzy House, while to end up the 4th trip on Wax Planet, B2 blesses us with some more classic vibes with a sharp string's melody and a rich bassline guided silently by a Rhodes piano and some pungent and melancholic female vocals, to end it up in style.

We last heard from "vinyl-faced artist" Apparel Wax back in January, when the man (or woman) of mystery unleashed a second scorching EP of high-grade deep house on Apparel Music. For EP number three, the Son of Sleeveface takes a different tack. The untitled opener, for example, is a layered, floor-friendly, jazz dance-friendly sample collage full of vintage funk drum breaks, swinging percussion solos, fluid jazz piano solos and less than subtle nods towards hip-house. While a little messy, it's undeniably enormous fun. "Track 2" sees old wax-chops beef up and slightly weird out a jaunty, horn-heavy Afro-funk cut, while the flipside excursion is a romping deep house revision of a swirling and chiming '80s soul hit.

Amusingly, Apparel Music is marketing mystery producer Apparel Wax as "the vinyl-faced artist who tears dancefloors apart". While we don't doubt the latter, we'd be very surprised if his chops really were made from polyvinyl. Regardless, the mysterious figure is a producer on the rise. This second EP, which comes hot on the heels of a sold-out debut last autumn, contains another quartet of high quality cuts. The son of sleeve-face begins with the breezy warmth of "Track 1", where a disco-era soul cut is transformed into a rolling deep house gem, before strolling into more traditional U.S deep house pastures via "Track 2". Flip for the teased-out disco stomp of "Track 3" and the jazzy brilliance of "Track 4", which boasts some particularly tasty electric piano solos.
