Move D's 'Building Bridges' is David Moufang's latest studio album. Close friends and long time collaborators, Thomas Fehlmann, Fred P, Juju & Jordash, D-Man & rEAGENZ all feature alongside Benjamin Brunn. Building Bridges was recorded at reSource, Heidelberg between 1999-2019 except "One Small Step..." which was recorded at Thomas Fehlman's Space in Berlin. This album initially started out as an entry for the Inside Out series on Aus - based around the idea of collaborations with his nearest and dearest but when David sent me the music and wrote a few new tracks there was such a cohesive, timeless feel to it as a body of work I decided that it had to be a stand alone artist album...and more

Legendary German DJ/producer David "Move D" Moufang first appeared on Electric Minds back in 2013. "To The Disco '77" was an undoubted highlight of that 12" and here gets the remix treatment from the man himself. His "Live Rework" is a wonderfully loose and lucid affair, with quietly jazzy guitars, New Jersey garage organs and headline-grabbing vocal samples wrapping themselves around foreboding, low-end chords and nifty, on the fly drum machine programming. On the flip, Moufang joins forces with Mister Saturday Night man Justin Carter for "Leaves (Basement Demo)", a wonderfully deep, rich and spacey house cut that recalls the long-serving German producer's intelligent techno era output (albeit with the added warmth of head-in-the-clouds deep house).

While David Moufang, also known as Move D, certainly needs no introduction, the label Polyfon remained a tip for insiders. It might seem like a long shot, but that's probably what led to the fact that the paths of David Moufang and Wolfram Both - one of the Polyfon founders - crossed a few years back. The Erfurt located imprint was mostly recognized for its underdog releases from Berlin-based Tomtomgroove (The Funkman), Steffen Baldo aka Ugly Drums from Cologne (Basement Amusement Park, The Next Room) and even Workshops mastermind Lowtec who released his critically acclaimed Angstrom EP with the Thuringian Label. The rather unique position, that Polyfon worked itself up to, was presumedly the reason for Move D to join them for his upcoming release.

Some things just get better with age. House Grooves Vol. 1 mark a part in history, where a young Move D felt ignited by the classic house music sounds of the day. Strictly rhythms and nu grooves forged masterful networks with bleeps and clonks, pianos helped synthesizing dopamine and the phuture was wide open. “House Grooves Vol.1″ embodies that special time and place with a bunch of vintage tracks saved from the abyss. Respectfully edited and dusted with gloves, it features Move D’s sought-after magic moment “I Gave My Love", a collaboration with Mannheim’s house hero See-Base, the bass line swing of “Babyphonk” and a breakbeat-led remix by Shan & Gerd Janson that tries to sound like it could have happened back them. The bottom line is: the past can make the future feel at home.
