New talent from Detroit. HazMat's Infinite Silence ep is as deep as they come, and is the first release in a new series of Detroit artist releases from Third Ear. Following on from Third Ear's landmark Detroit Beatdown series, the New Detroit Deep series of releases is just that. HazMat has played keyboards for artists such as Bilal and Mary J Blige, as well as Detroit legends Kenny Dixon Jr, Amp Fiddler and Delano Smith. Along the way, he started to make his own beats and his own tracks and is now ready to take things to the next level. He also plays keys with Motown legacy artists' touring bands, such as The The Four Tops, The Detroit Spinners, The Gap Band. It's not all about the beats and the synths, though. HazMat's work using the Talkbox is right up there.

Description:

Berlin-based producer, Yapacc take on the original sees him transferring the song into a dancefloor-ready track whilst subtly maintaining the ambience of the original. Off-beat house-esque sub-rhythms and a melodic bassline helps to keep the energy of the track moving forward, whilst the top end guitars and vocals keep the listener interest up until the very last second. Russian-based Dave Pads remix also helps the original move onto the dancefloor with this incredibly funky, groovy-laiden back beat which simultaneously manages to hold onto the original tracks esthetical ambience.

Back in 2002 when Alex Gloor moved back to Basel/Switzerland from New York, he played a friend of his the Schaltkreis Wassermann LP PSYCHOTRON from 1982 with the Daniele Baldelli/Bepe Loda cosmic classic LUX. To Alex's surprise his friend knew PJ Wassermann, had his phone number and he lived near Basel, so Alex and PJ became friends & over the next 14 years stayed in close contact and worked on different project together. 2016 PJ was urged by his girlfriend to finally clean up is messy attic, which he did under protest, and to everybody surprise found (forgotten) recordings from his legendary LSD sessions from 1981, master tapes with live recordings of synth noodling created on many weekend “LSD Trips” recorded on a Studer A807 Reel to Reel tape machine.

Description:

The return of master Loz to Outplay! After releasing strong stuff on labels like Razor-n-Tape, Quintessentials and Quartet Series plus some recent remix action on Melbourne's Kyoku, monsieur Goddard has made a new EP for us as a perfect follow up to his 2015 Loose Jams! He presents a wonderful EP of three varied tracks, showcasing his prowess in combining synths and sampled bits. First up is uptempo discofied 'Hazy', which builds well on the sound he's become known for. On the flip there's deep dusty chugger 'Peaches' and the sweet, sweet melodies of synthy groover 'Murmur' to provide a proper close to the EP!

"Don't Wanna Be" is a low slung, sleazy groover with plenty of filtered guitar licks and weighty bass, "Moods" takes things in a smoother downtempo direction and "Your Dance" pitches somewhere in the middle with a divine slice of soul jazz re-edited for the dancefloor.
