Infamous Tbilisi club Bassiani is one of the hallmarks of the emergent Georgian party scene, and its in-house label is adding to the respected reputation of the place with a strong cast of characters occupying each release. There's a distinct Japanese bent to the third volume, leading in with Wata Igarashi's verdant synth-fest "Stratosphere", a truly cosmic slice of modern techno. Takaaki Itoh takes things in a darker direction with the super-linear "Monobehaviour", while Iori breaks things up with the atmospheric offbeat kick of "Mist". That leaves it to scene leader DJ Nobu to complete the circle with a tripped out set of twinkling notes and off-kilter grooves like only he can do.

While the tone stays relentlessly tribal, Ploy variates on the theme. The opening tracks dread is balanced out by the warm, colourful strings on 'Zoom', whist 'Blow Poke' bounces with frenetic propulsion. The EP concludes with 'Bad Seed', where a sultry groove is programmed alongside the wooziest of pads. All four tracks showcase Ploy at his most subtle and accomplished, it's well worth the wait.

For this release, the two produce spacious, healing music for when it is raining outside. Warm and peaceful.

Multi Culti's lucid-lifestyle dreamer Peter Power takes us on a free-wheeling trip to the motherland on AFRO DAMBA. The Irish-born Voodoohop resident has returned from the jungles of Bahia with a fresh ep of primal party tracks sampling voices and rhythms from across Africa and it's neighbouring islands, producing what is easily his most club-oriented work to date. Whereas his tracks for Voodoohop were spiritual flute-heart-openers, these are neo-pagan mating-ritual floor-fillers.
