Spatial Cues is a series of split singles sounding out main(void)’s and Kon Janson’s shared musical space. Operating out of Berlin and London, the two artists join forces to showcase their mutual vision of techno music. CUES001 starts off the series with two immersive yet driving tracks, both built upon breathing and soughing atmospheres that wrap themselves around clear-cut, straightforward rhythms. Guided by bleepy accents, CUES001 A takes you on a stormy 10 minute ride through subtly shifting layers of sound, revealing its hidden depths in two slowly climaxing breaks. Steadily evolving towards its floating finale, CUES001 B contrasts a mesmerising percussion pattern with a steaming machine sound that loses itself in endless feedback cascades.

D Edge's cultured off shoot OLGA is back with a new EP, Radiolarian, from German-Bulgarian Stefan Goldmann. Again it is a perfectly well sculpted EP with deep and sleek lines that get right into your head. The man behind it is the co-owner of the excellent Macro label and for more than fifteen years has released intricate house and techno sounds. He is a deep thinker and master of hi-fidelity sound design and intricate grooves, so is perfect for this label. Radiolarian is first and is seven sublime minutes of tunnelling techno rippled with neon melodies and firefly like pads that burrow into your brain. It is a high tempo and high impact track but a subtle one that works its magic slowly. Building to a number of peaks, it then pulls back and the whole thing starts again. On the flip, Streams is freaky and unhinged, with weird synth sounds making for a trippy atmospheres as minimal beats roll below. Perfectly detailed so as to work on both head as well as heel, it rounds out another fine EP.

There's some booming, tunneling and thunderous rhythm action happening on the epic "Bayefal" while some deep acid antics on "Malumz" (Tribute To Gqom Oh!) keep up with a relentless boom: Plastikman goes to Afrika on this one! On the flip, the said track gets two awesome remixes: Citizen Boys rendition is very nefarious indeed with its razor sharp strings in minor acting as bassline over its jacking vocal loops. Then Formation Boyz step up with some impressive off kilter rhythm therapy.

Zon Zon Zon is arguably a little more varied than some may expect, with Shelter combining his usual new age inspired melodies and tropical flavours with nods to rubbery, post-disco pop, dub, woozy ambient and the kind of fluid, sun-baked electronica that defies easy categorization. However you describe it, Zon Zon Zon is mightily impressive, delivering a near perfect blend of electronic and acoustric instrumentation.

Peckham rising: the Eccentric crew celebrate five years of parties with five more slabs of obscure, deck-ready cosmic gold. Both "Cosa Rosa" and "Wake Up" ease us in gently with shimmering synths and well-tempered slo-mo grooves but "Nar Nar Nehe" ups the energy with a rolling synth boogie groove that's peppered with layers or synth-tom percussion and dubby echoes. Those in need of a swamp wallow should head for the soaking wet bass of "Och Eye" before we're whisked away in an easterly direction on a vibe made purely of faraway twangs, dubby percussion and yearning atmospheres.
