IO man Aleksandr Voznichenko once again dons the MOI guise for another trip into deep house/tech-house fusion. There's much to admire on this sixth self-released EP, beginning with the spacey pads, woozy chord progressions, New Jersey-influenced beats and rich bass of "Track 1". The flipside "Track Two" sounds like a riff on the same core elements, though the drum programming - and in particular the more electronic sounding cymbal lines - feel far more in-keeping with tech-house than the more swinging A-side. The swirling, cyclical chords and bubbly electronic noises dotted throughout the track only enhance the aural flavour.

Faster, real name Laurentiu Suciu, is one of the fastest rising talents on Romania's sizeable minimal techno scene. This is his second single of 2016, and third in total on the Reure label he set up last year. It's a quietly spacey affair, with intergalactic chord progressions and starry lead lines stretching out over a metronomic, no-nonsense techno groove. There's a little more Motor City influence than you'd find on some of his work, but that's no bad thing. Rhadoo provides the obligatory flipside rework, utilizing a few more minimal techno tropes while ensuring that the drums remain bold, crunchy and snappy, and that the spacey electronics take pride of place in the mix.

Cuisine Dub first charmed out ears with a release on the ever-excellent Udacha label, but now the Croatian producer has been picked up by Sound Reflection for an EP of sumptuous experimental delights somewhere on the fringes of world music influenced deep house. "Benvenuti" is a playful beatless opener before the twinkling delights of "Teraca" take hold with a steady rhythm section powering the delicate melodies. "Laguna" lets some lingering piano notes drift into the patter of bongos and congas, and then "Lumbrak" strips everything back without losing that hand-played organic feeling. "Galeb" finishes the record off with yet more blissful keys and loping rhythms that radiate that good time Adriatic feeling.

Le Freund is a new Dutch imprint founded to release "warm, analogue music", and this is its debut release. It comes from fellow Amsterdam dweller Duke Hugh, whose 2016 debut album on Rhythm Section International was something of a dusty, jazz-flecked treat. He begins in typically confident fashion with the thrilling space boogie/broken beat fusion of "Movin On", before laying down some rich and colourful analogue deep house in the shape of "Poly Valence". On the flip you'll find the tactile, Chaos In The CBD style deep house jazziness of "DTO", and wonderfully loved-up remix of "Movin On" from Dutch scene veteran Awanto3.
