"Sensation/Clear" was Phantasy's momentous fiftieth release, and the first studio transmission from Daniel Avery since his acclaimed LP, 'Drone Logic'. Now, both tracks are remixed in distinctive fashion by two fellow outliers on the fringes of psychedelic, experimental techno. Acclaimed producer and Eaux Records mastermind Rrose commits a typically ambitious and sonically experimental redux to Sensation. While retaining much of the original’s hypnotic, almost celestial groove, its atmospherics are transformed into something altogether more alien and overwhelming, culminating in an epic yet utterly earned conclusion of visceral noise. Abdulla Rashim meanwhile guides the sound of 'Clear' into deeper territory still, engineering an initially unassuming remix that ultimately reveals layer upon layer of painstaking detail. Polyrhythmic bass lines interlock expertly from the beginning, gradually unfolding while never relenting.

According to Lovefingers' typically eccentric sales notes, these two tracks from Man Power (AKA similarly quirky producer Geoff Kirkwood) will "put a wrench in your holiday". Kirkwood has been globetrotting a lot lately, and both cuts here sound like they were inspired by visits to hot, steamy countries. He kicks things off with the subtle positivity of "The Tourist", where swirling chords and tumbling synthesizer melodies ride a busy, bouncy, and pleasingly off-kilter, tribal drum groove. While excellent, it lacks the surging positivity, glistening Balearic touches and wonky analogue bottom-end of flipside "Oye", which sounds like an Adriatic anthem in waiting.

Floating Points' Sam Shepherd follows 2015's critically acclaimed debut album "Elaenia" with this double header 12" "Kuiper" and '"or Marmish Part II". An epic 18.28 minutes in length, "Kuiper" is the ultimate builder: Simple drum machine patterns and synth pads are augmented with rising strings and jazzy kit breaks, swooshing, enveloping efx and layers of echo-drenched guitars - what a ride! Sitting on the same astral plane as Mike Oldfield's "Tubular Bells" and Manuel Gottsching's "E2-E4", "For Marmish Part II" features a shuffling slo-mo samba rhythm over which a sequenced keyboard line, echoing bells, warm sub bass fills and a falsetto voice drift in and out of the mix. ‘The Serious EP’ follows Bibio’s latest album ‘A Mineral Love’, which was released earlier this year. The EP is the result of a number of collaborations between Stephen Wilkinson (Bibio) and Berlin- based singer Olivier St. Louis (the artist formerly known as Olivier Daysoul), who has previously worked with Hudson Mohawke and Oddisee, amongst many others. The pairing sees Bibio’s dreampop instrumentals and funk guitar licks combining with Olivier’s powerful, emotive soul vocal, creating a colourful four-track EP of mind-infiltrating hooks and altpop proportions.
