Gianni Marchetti is one of Italy's best kept secrets...A composer with a long and elaborate list of writing credits in both pop music and movie soundtracks. He penned proper anthems in Italy's post-war melodic tradition. Back to their usual A / B format, the Sylphe duo combine forces for a solid EP, which opens with ‘’Gleech Huis’’ - a stomping, bassline heavy broken 808 beat, techno house jam on the A side. Holdie Gawn builds upon these elements, introducing a lush shredded vocal and sparkling textured melodies, building a song out of track. Flip to the B side for Micawber’s ‘’Parsec Telemetry’’ a peak time techno rolling groove, with a punching bass and many layers of glitch, glassy sound design and busy percussion, arranged with a minimal approach on the back of a persistent beat. Music From Memory are back with their first 12” of 2019 in the form of a five track EP from prolific German drummer Curt Cress. Since the early 1970s Cress has worked with a number of high profile German bands such as Passport, Atlantis and Snowball as well as on cult Disco records with studio groups such as Tender Aggression and Chime. Working tirelessly as a session musician for countless German and International Jazz, Rock and Pop acts, Cress has also worked extensively as a Producer, most notably for Nina Hagen. Cress would also record a number of records as a solo artist, with his unique sensibility as a drummer given centre stage.
