You know when the dj drops something so special you’re mentally forced to ask for the track and the reply you get is ”its my own unreleased track”. That’s how I (Art Alfie) stumbled upon all three of these. About ten years ago I witnessed Van Rivers & The Subliminal Kid (Peder Mannerfelt) turn Berghain upside-down with the dark techno epos ”Mars Attacks”. Around the same time I had the luck to see Nils Westerlund boogle minds with the broken beat psychedelics of ”Suspiria” at a Stockholm Open Air. Last but not least, a couple of years ago I heard ”Thicker Than Blood” for the first time, like the Sirens in greek mythology, it lured people on to the dance floor at Stockholms classic summer hot spot F12.

Part IV of Levon Vincent’s current series appears to double as a follow-up to 2011’s ‘Man Or Mistress’ 12”Opener ‘Man Or Mattress’ is a funny title but we’re not sure of its relation to ‘Man Or Mistress’. It’s a chunky scene setter for a super bright and wide roller, painting pointillist vocal stabs on the ceiling over powerful subbass traction in his patented style, before the B-side sees him get moody with thrumming Italo/pop bassline and blue piano chords for haughty 4am moves, and before wrappign up with a fine spot of instrumental electro/synth-dance-pop.

Fresh from delivering the "Dance Music" trilogy of 12" singles, NYC native Levon Vincent returns to action with an EP of untitled tracks. It's an impressively melodious and ear-pleasing affair, with the Berlin-based producer's no-nonsense house and techno drums being smothered in a variety of tuneful synthesizer lines, fuzzy but futuristic electronics and warm basslines. Picking highlights is tough, but we'd suggest starting with the bubbly analogue bliss of "Track 1" before moving on to the chunky goodness of "Track 3", where cheery lead lines dance above non-stop bass and crispy machine drums. Elsewhere, "Track 4" sounds like a tribute to the soundtrack to forgotten early '90s Commodore Amiga game "Fire and Ice" and "Track 2" is a heartwarming rush of luscious lo-fi lead lines and unfussy drums.

"Show Me Love" is a song by American singer Robin S. It was written by Allen George, Richard Tomlinson (non credited) and Fred McFarlane and originally released in 1990 by Champion Records in the United Kingdom. In 1992, it was remixed by Swedish house music production duo StoneBridge and Nick Nice, and re-released in many European countries as well as United States and Japan. It became one of the most well known house anthems in the United Kingdom, and Robin's biggest hit to date. It helped to make house more mainstream and the song is often confused with her following single "Luv 4 Luv", which is compositionally similar and was released around the same time, and with the 1997 hit "Show Me Love" by Swedish singer Robyn, due to same song title and similar artist name.
