Gilles Petersonお気に入りのラテン・クロスオーバー・プロジェクトSunlightsquareによるRSD限定盤が遅ればせながら入荷！！Louie Vegaが昨年リリースしたアルバム「NYC Disco」でもカバーされていた7インチ・オンリーの'78年鬼レア・ディスコBoard Of Directors"Hanging Tough"に加え、ガラージ古典でもあるジャズ・ファンク・ディスコ超名曲Rodney Franklin"The Groove"の極上カバーをカップリングしたグレイトフル・ダブル・サイダー！！

This special ’45 features two incredible Sunlightsquare cover versions commissioned by BBE and Alim founder Peter Adarkwah. First up is ‘Hanging Tough’, an obscure Latin disco-jazz cut written by Vinnie Griffin and originally recorded by Board Of Directors back in 1987. Claudio’s stunning piano and synth work takes centre stage in this effervescent version, which also features backing vocals from London duo HanLei. On the flip is a rendition of Rodney Franklin’s 1980 hit ‘The Groove’, a staple among jazz-funk aficionados to this day. Sunlightsquare’s take on the track also boasts original vocals from HanLei alongside virtuoso keys and flute, plus super-tight brass and rhythm sections.

It was championed by Ron Trent, Osunlade, Hunee, Bradley Zero, Nick The Record and Atjazz to name a few. This time, the main man and keyboard wizard Claudio Passavanti deployed two remixers for deeper and more spiritual endeavour to showcase his magical composition.

Hot on the Cuban heels of "Nacao" comes another scorching hot Latin fusion from London-based virtuoso Claudio Passavanti. Loaded with an all-star cast comprising master percussionist Giovanni Imparato, Ronnie Scotts resident Rene Alvarez, the dancefloor-minded beat is peppered with Cuban percussion and vocal rhythms and lavish jazzy swings to the keys. Remix-wise Kay Suzuki provides two-for-one; an outstanding Balearic toe-tickler massaged with just the right amount of cosmicity and the naked drum track which is an odyssey in itself. Oye oye.
