One could argue that these tracks mark the beginning of a creative journey for HNNY. It's a brilliant parade of wonderful beats and melodies and a glimpse into the producer's musical thought process. Omena travels south of the Mediterranean Sea, antique maps and compass in hand, for the release of Parviz's Zerzura EP. An expedition to the eponymous mythical oasis, west of the Nile river, stirring "the passion of men", as St-Exupery would put it. Four songs of romance and reverie, taking you through a dizzying jazz journey, full of twists and turns; starting with emboldened trumpets, only to end on a handful of quaint piano notes. As dusk settles upon the dunes, the mirage has now vanished, and the forlorn hope turns into a soul-searching journey.

Since the first release on Studio Barnhus back in 2011 Johan 'HNNY' Cederberg has had a prolific output and released his music on several labels such as Local Talk, Let's Play House & Permanent Vacation. In 2013 he set up his own label Yummy and Puss together with Kornel Kovacs.

Omena Limited is back after a short hiatus with its fifth release. This time Japanese producer Atsushi Yano delivers "Rotties Bites EP", three organic & lively, percussion-filled tracks that become totally infectious as their hypnotic pull takes hold. Whether it's the 'think' break-sampling "Fat Tail", beautifully combined with ethnic vox and adding perc; then onto the deep house roller, "Plugged Nickel", with its live and frenetic b-line, embellished stylishly with jazz-funk guitar licks. "Barbital" concludes the set with rolling congas, emotive piano chords and a deep rooted, jazz sensibility; meeting somewhere between Saint German, Rotating Assembly and Jazzanova - top stuff!
