It’s been a year since Francis Inferno Orchestra’s last hit for Superconscious Records ’Harmony’ shredded it’s way into record bags across the globe, Now, twelve months on, he returns with his latest 12’ 'Oasis and A Time'. The A-side consists of two versions of the lead track ’Oasis'. The 'Celestial Body Mix’ which is a dreamy uptempo dance escape, and the 'Erotikk Mix' which gives a nod to early Italian DFC records and the sounds of Deep Forest. On the flip, 'Mating Rituals of the Eastern Suburbs' is a devoted chant to the humble inhabitants of the suburb of Burwood in Melbourne.

Coming through utterly correct, as per usual, Francis Inferno Orchestra aka Bjorn This Way spearheads the second release of the Superconscious Records imprint. This is some straight up edit goodness, and the very best of its kind. Think of it in terms of being the Rolls Royce of current nu-disco. But the thing is, this gear goes way beyond disco and lands into some pretty surprising, gloriously obscure territories. "Cave Clan" for instance, is more of an electro-meets-EDM banger than anything disco related, and if we really have to go into specifics on this tight little banger, it reminds us of the Golden Teacher output from the Optimo Camp - a stone-cold killer. The B-side ain't too shabby either, where a looming, heavy bassline catapults us into a dark and mysterious groove with a devilish percussion. An absolute tip - warmly recommended!

Superconscious, the Australian label overseen by the most evocatively named duo Francis Inferno Orchestra and Fantastic Man, returns with a fifth offering and the welcome sight of some fresh material from Andras Fox. Last spotted on a Dopeness Galore 12" alongside regular sparrer Oscar Key Sung, this fresh 5 track 12" sees the Foxmaster taking subtle cues from Cajmere, Pal Joey and some lesser known Australian house producers from the '90s. There is a DIY, lo-fi sheen apparent throughout but it's complemented by a refreshing sense of humour in some of the little production touches. See the 'horny-Australiana disco' of "Soy Boy" for an example of this. A great 12"!
