With an arsenal of stellar music releases already under his belt, Ponty Mython serves up the delicious “Pink Tango” EP for Futureboogie. Having carved out a reputation for some of the finest cosmic house productions on labels like Omena, Dirt Crew and Quintessentials, the Lithuanian based producer delivers three new cuts on this release, which comes ably backed by a remix from Italian producer Fabrizio Mammarella. On the title track, Alex Pletnev (Ponty Mython), goes for breezy synths and wandering melodies over a chugging mechanical beat and an FM style bassline, whilst Fabrizio Mammarella (Bear Funk/Les Disques De La Mort) toughens things up slightly on his remix, plunging into a darker sound aesthetic for a great reinterpretation of the original.

Opening the EP, Black Magic sets an optimistic tone for what is to come from this new label. Intoxicatingly hypnotic and full of warmth, this track reminds us that it is always summer somewhere. If Black Magic is essential in warming a party up, God Bless Atheism is the perfect way to bring us softly down on the other side. A modern Balearic anthem in the waiting, this is best enjoyed looking out to new horizons. B1 Street Sunbath sees Ponty exploring more-techy territory whilst still retaining the hopeful feeling that forms the backbone of this EP. Closing the EP, Hidden Object has a strong tribal feel which hooks the listener. Using vocal chanting samples and simple repetitive melody lines, this is a perfect example of how less is often more in connecting with the dancefloor.

Fina enlist the talents of Ponty Mython for number 24 on the label. Technical house goodness is order of the day as "Why Can't We Both Be Right" deploys a mechanical beat to LFO filtered vocal hooks and pumping pad sweeps. "Rejoice" unloads some feel good disco loops onto an Ableton pad set, looping up the juicy bits and lashing digital fx and synth splurges onto the stems. "Morning In A Boeing 747" is a clever title for a tune that sounds like your soaring through the clouds while the mid morning sun pokes his head through - serene and radiant but with an unhurried calm throughout. Lovely stuff. "Suff Mode" chills things out even more, sounding like a lost Moodymann number with its clever sampling and eyes down nature. A backroom burner of the highest quality - sultry and sexy as hell.
