This time, however, we enter a more tech-themed realm starting with Moomin's own rework, a slick and lean percussion machine that keeps on pushing forwards with its dusty beats and dark room melodies. Tristen takes care of the second remix over on the flip, and the man trips the entire groove down to leave a wide-eyed, cinematic plateau of loose percussion twists, FX-heavy sonics and an altogether dreamy kinda vibe.

After scoring a flawless hat trick of sampledelic house bangers on his Tribute imprint in 2015, Tee Mango keeps the fire burning under this Theo inspired project with another pair of flawless, floor shakers. "Time Is Up" opens proceedings, charting a course between Inner City's sci fi techno and DJ Sprinkles era Motor City Drum Ensemble as crisp percussion cuts through shimmering arpeggios and nebulous synths. The space dust clears around the midpoint, leaving room for the classic Detroitian vocal sample and one shot filtered Rhodes to blow us away. Over on the other side, "You & Them" is all short looped disco bass and saturated afro moog with heavy use of the delay pedal and a simple vocal refrain - “It was you & them against the world… and we survive together”. This sounds like Afefe Iku battling it out Paperclip People era Carl Craig. These Tribute releases sell out pretty quick, my hunch is that these will not hang about.

Just in time for summer, Sol Power Sound is presents its 4th release, the "Djidjo Vide EP", a 1-2 punch of Afro house by label heads, the Sol Power All-Stars. "Djidjo Vide", the title track on the A-side, features DC (via Togo) Afrobeat band, Elikeh. It's a vibey slice of propulsive Afro house about finding joy in the face of hardship. Massama Dogo's commanding vocals (sung in Mina) combined with the driving bassline, and aggressive horns (performed by DC's Sticky Bear) make "Djidjo Vide" a summer sure shot for a roof-top jam, beachside dance floor, or nightclub near you.
