Her voice soars in a multi-layered swirl of crafty production while the arrangement crackles with an energy that reflects therousing message of the lyrics. It’s an urgent intonation of positivity that should motivate anyone to get up and move, but it communicates this idea in a most delightfully unusual of ways. Rising Parisian house head Ben Vedren offers up a remix of the lead track, building on his refined releases for Minibar and Concrete Music amongst others. He brings a noticeably tough undercurrent to his version, using a driving bass-weighted drum set to carry artful slices of Dani’s vocals through a club-ready confection with carefully placed brushstrokes of warmth and melody. Ben Vedren also turns his hand to the Acapella Remix, stripping the production of the original track right back and replacing it with a simple rhythmic guidance to leave ample space for the vocals to stand on their own. With nothing but a steady grooving kick and snare loop in the way, it’s a track crying out for the kind of creative mixing that music as unique as Dani’s is perfectly suited to.

Following Prins Thomas’ lovingly received 4 X LP vinyl ambient record Principe Del Norte released last week, Smalltown Supersound announce the equally sprawling remix package to compliment it, including remixes from seminal ambient legends The Orb and artists featured on his ‘Paradise Goulash’ mix in 2015; Sun Araw, Young Marco, I:Cube, Ricardo Villalobos and Hieroglyphic Being.

The Hieroglyphic Being remixes 12” will be the first to be available on March 18th 2016 in the UK and Europe and April 15th 2016 in North America and Japan. Release date for the second double 12” and The Orb and Sun Araw remixes to be confirmed and all remixes will be collected on a double CD and digital release to be released in Summer 2016.

The Girls In Uniform 12" sees Poni Hoaxer Nicolas Ker and Versatile boss Gilbert Cohen revisit their Aladdin project. Legend has it heartbreak brought the two to form Aladdin, seeking solace in making music together after being dumped by their respective girlfriends. After a debut album back in 2011, the project was put on the shelf but the pair decided to get back in the studio at the behest of "a well-known energy drink" for a session with some killer musicians. The result on "Girls In Uniform" is a strange brew of rock, dub, and kraut and sounds wholly suited to Versatile, as do the accompanying versions from Trevor Jackson and Cohen.. The latter's dub version under the Graal alias is apparently one of the first recordings to roll out of his new Amsterdam studio!

There is significantly more than a scintilla of exuberance on Cosmin TRG's first 2016 venture on his own Fizic imprint. Number four in the series further explores the dense textures present on last year'sIIIEP, but largely dispenses with the ennui in favour of a different discourse. Oblic offers a brisk groove that ebbs and flows among graphite-thin layers of percussion and sonic debris. The recurring dust sample amplifies the vigorous rhythmic attributes of the track, rendering it withprime dance floor capabilities. Serpenti takes distant sparkles of mutant chimes, wraps them around the relentless pulse of thudding kick drum and soaks everything in static. Granules and grit are extracted from circuitry with a focus on razor sharp sound system efficiency. Oblic/ Serpenti arrives on Fizic end of March in Digital and Vinyl Formats. Anthony Naples cult label Proibito kicks off 2016 with two new twelves. First up we have a quick split between HJ and AN. HJ offers one beast of a freaky-deaky drum tool that recalls the halcyon days of Plastikman's 'Spastik' being played over anything and everything from 150bpm techno raves to sub-100bpm slo-mo cosmic shenanigans. Drop this baby over any of the above to devastating effect! Squelchy snares rolls and flabby wet toms rambunctiously going at it, no holds barred. On the flip, AN's "Pinuelas" is a suitably hazed, THC-laden jaunt into deep space abandon for Proibito. Utilizing a catchy Rhodes line we have pumping side chain compression working with the tapey drums to create a swelling, buoyant ball of dancefloor tension that should excite all the top jocks. Another doozy for Proibito and dancers everywhere! Recommended.
